Connecting Threads has Roxanne needles. I've been using #10's for years and have had no problems.

My favorite is Piecemakers, 11 or 12's. :-D

I'm a newbie to hand quilting, but I'm using John James size 9. I used JJ when I did a lot of cross stitching and like those needles, so I wanted to see what the quilting ones were like. So far, so good.

John James Big Eye Golden Glide 10's or 11's. Especially for batiks, the alloy used goes through tight weaves better.

I've tried lots of different needles for hand-quilting. I thought Roxanne were the best until I got Piecemakers. I use the size 12 unless I have thicker batting in the quilt, then I use the 9. When I use the longer needles (sz 9) they do bend easier than the 12s but the eye is larger. Maybe I just got a bad batch of Roxanne's because the eye seems to ravel my thread and the barrel of the needle seems too thick to hold more than about 5 stitches at a time. John James bends too easy for me. Maybe I'm just too aggressive. I don't know

Richard Hemming size 9 betweens. If they are any shorter than that I have trouble holding on to them while putting 4 or 6 stitches on the needle.

I finally was able to get some Roxannes and have fallen in love with the # 12 but I sure have trouble threading them. I have tried all the tricks but the only thing that works is persistance.
