Any other ideas to use double wedding ring wedges?

I recently picked up a bunch of scrap fabric wedges (circa 1960's and 70's), which I thought I could make into a Double Wedding Ring, but this got too frustrating, as I can't figure out how to create the pieces at the end of the arcs to fit the pieces I've got. So, I'm looking for other ideas/patterns to use these wedges in - has anyone every seen them used in a wandering path kind of pattern, i.e., sew a lot of sets-of-eight wedges together, and then turn them in different directions to create a kind of winding path all over a plain muslin top??? It's just an idea that came to me . . . am I crazy to try this? Any ideas on how to work with a whole-cloth top to applique these, or is there an easier way? I appreciate any help - thanks!

That sounds cool...winding roads! Or maybe spiral them on one block in a star pattern?
