Nice but personally, when it's a product made by an independent and made in the USA to boot, I will splurge on the real thing. Just my opinion.

Thank you so much for sharing this. It is simple and obvious, and I never would have thought of it on my own...LOL! I pass a Harbor Freight on my way home from work; I will have to stop in one of these days and see what other treasures they're hiding.

I love the things we learn here. What a great idea. Our local Harbor Freight is located right next to our Joanns. Makes it nice for both hubby and myself. Now i can give him my list.

What a great idea! I knew there had to be a substitute, but never gave ear plugs a thought!

Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Thanks for the great trip! I love the things that I bought at Harbor Freight! Not to mention the freebie that you get when you go in there with yr coupon! Yep, will stop and get some this weekend infact. They will work with with my T-pins that someone told me to buy instead of safety pins. Ouch! I get stuck with those all the time and stopped using them.

Hi, I am glad you took my idea and found something else to use. However when you find that the ear plugs don't really hold for long give Pinmoors a try.
I made them out of silicone so they would last forever!
Also, they are on sale this Month.
Thanks,
Loretta

Are these things made out of the same material as Pinmoors?

I admit that I was a skeptic, but Pinmoors really do grip the pins (or needles) where the earplugs I tried did not.

The earplugs wouldn't stay on while I quilted and I ended up with loose earplugs and pins. Yes, they're more expensive than earplugs - earplugs are made in unbelieveable quantities with little associated R&D cost. The smaller the batch, the higher per-piece cost of manufacture.

The Pinmoors aren't in the way any more than safety pins - you have to stop and remove safety pins or tagging gun tags or basting stitches or Pinmoors and pins.

I'm not at all affiliated with Pinmoors or any earplug company, either. ;)
