SOOOOOO jealous!!!! no central air here and my husband hates to turn on the bedroom air. It has caused quite a few arguments to say the least!!!! 82 degrees in the shade at 6pm augggghhhhhh

I moved here (SW Indiana) from Arizona. I can take all the heat you can dish out, but the humidity is killing me. I HATE it!! I hate the mosquitoes, I hate the gnats, and the biting flies. And because I'm from AZ, I don't consider 50+ inches of rain a year NORMAL!!

VAL. I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN :!: :!: :!: I used to be from NH.

It is not a problem here, just crank the A/C down a bit. I would say 99.9% of quilters living in FL have ac :P

Try running a de-humidifier and see if there is a difference. We started using one in the winter and just kept it going and we empty the bucket about every other day. and our basement is almost cold now. Try it and see if it cools the room once the moisture is out of the air.

It is just too hot to do anything. The humidity is awful.
I have to take 2 showers a day!

Yeah, it sure has been sticky lately. Wish we could get a break from it without going polar.

I wouldn't want to live without A/C. Got married in 1954 and that year set a record of 45 days of 100 deg temps. No A/C and only one 16" fan. We were tougher then - didn't know any better. Even where I worked didn't have A/C. Lately we've been starting the morning in mid 80s with humidity in the 90s. Just when I think I can't stand it - God allows us to have a little breeze from the north and it tides me over and gives me hope of cold weather soon. I love cold weather!!!!!!
