I did this and ended up with 50 holes in the wall. I am not allowed to use nails. I have some hanging with the removable hangers. But they are very expensive.
I bought "Quick Hangers" made by the Hillman Group, they leave very small holes, which could be easily patched with filler.
They hold 40 lbs, and I can put more than on ruler on each
hanger. I purchased them at Lowe's.

Because I am going from one area to another piecing, cutting etc I have mats and rulers constantly floating. To help I took a long piece of card board. Used the clear heavy gage plastic table cover plastic folded the top of the plastic down to stiffen it more and wrapped the lower 1/2 of the card board and taped it to the back. With a piece of ribbon through a pocket of bent back cardboard at the top I have hung it from a large thumb tack. In the pocket I store the smaller cutting grids and rulers. They are at my finger tips and off the ironing board. Smaller rulers, pencils etc are in a shoe type hanger. Over sewing areas they often get a ribbon strung through and hung on a nail or hook.

You can also get one of these (silver or black mesh) at the dollar store. They work fine.

My DH made me a rack for the wall -- piece of cherry about 6x12" -- he routed slots in the wood end to end. He also made one slot thicker for LA rulers. Put a brace under it and hung it on the wall. Easy and cheap!

I have a closet, double wide for storing my fabric and supplies. Some kind reader, submitted a storage suggestion some time back, you may want to click on the search and type in storage. I love the hint that she gave, to use skirt hangers, with metal close pins. They are perfect , because I have the white open wire storage shelf's.

Yes would love to see. Aren't Dads special, those are the sort of treasures you hang onto and hopefully be able to pass on to another generation.
