Great job for a newbie at FMQ. Guess I'll have to put on my big girl panties too and jump in myself. I do almost always stitch in the ditch, but I need to broaden my horizons to do FMQ. I'm inspired.

Lookin good. I'm still in the infant stage of FMQ, but I do enjoy doing it.

Great courage! I haven't tried FMQ yet but I have the correct foot for my sewing machine. Your work looks super. Keep it up.

Great job. I'm still trying to get up the nerve to try fmq. I've a quilt top made from a kit I got from ebay and may try on it. It's not a gift for anyone so I won't be showing all of my mistakes :)

FMQ = Free Motion Quilting. Someone may have already mentioned this but I was told that on the stops and starts, take a stitch or two in the same spot where you stopped and then start moving the quilt rather than trying to move as you start again. That has helped me. Also, recently we had a local accomplished quilter speak at our guild meeting and he mentioned that it is harder to do stitch-in-the-ditch than fmq because you have to get those stitches exactly in the "ditch" for it to look good. I suppose all of it takes practice just like learning to play a musical instrument.
