Thank the Lord he made the right choice and thank the Lord for the military. He hadn't signed up he would have been found dead in a ditch by now. I'm proud that he understood his choices and had the strength to make the right choice for his family and himself.I went to his graduation and I couldn't believe my eyes when he came out in his dress uniform. He's a big guy at 6'4 and he stood even taller. When that uniform goes on it's as if he is wearing his heart and soul for the world to see. Everytime someone approached him to thank him he would blush like a little girl, it's so funny to see this big rough tough solider blush! Last time I saw him he thanked me and told me he found his place in the world and that he has never been so happy which maked me even happier!
AWESOME YOU DID SOMETHING RIGHT,YOU GAVE HIM A CHOICE AND MADE THE BEST ONE THANK YOU FOR RAISING SONS LIKE THAT.THANK GOD UP ABOVE.

Good for you and Good for your son. Lovely story, too! You should be so proud of him. I watched someone overcome a drug habit and it looked like it was harder than I could imagine. Bless him!

God has blessed you both. You for pushing the issue and him for making the right choice. Hugs to both of you and I'll keep you both in my prayers.

What a wonderful end to what could have been a tragic story. Not only are you proud of him but so are we. Another life saved by a mother and son who truly care about each other.

Please tell him "Thank you for serving our country!" from me. Yolanda Wood River

Sometimes we have no choice but to give them an ultimatum to really see what is going on. Tell him "Thank You" and many happy years for both of you. Moms are not as dumb as they think we are.

I'm glad you are proud of your son. How long have you had this picture? This is a 105mm Howitzer (Artillery piece) that has been retired by the active duty US military. And the cammies are very old style; many years old. The flak jacket and helmet are no longer used by active duty.

I'm confused. Different country? Reserves?
