I am retired and hubby still works. So I have plenty of time to myself, which I enjoy. I also go on "retreat" to babysit the grandpuppies on a regular basis which I really love. But I'm pretty sure that knowing he is there waiting for me is part of what makes it fun. And when I am gone he calls all the time with "I miss you". I told him when he retires he is taking over the chores I've been doing. Which is all of them except yard work. He is now in no hurry which suits me fine. It doesn't hurt that he is 11 years younger than me so has plenty of time left.

LOL I thought those jokes about retired couples were just that. I am happy to have my 'life companion' but a little absence makes the heart grow fonder. I was going out yesterday to deliver a couple of apple pies to DS/DDIL and a DF and to enjoy visiting a bit. "I'm going, too," he says but then he won't get out of the car.......shortened those visits, didn't it?

i'm retired and my husband works. gives me alot of alone time! i love him. glad to have him. but i love some time when i watch what i want(you know how men are with the remote!)and i listen to my music(loud) and generally party down with the animals (my own little Animal House).i can stay up late, sleep late, eat anything anytime, etc. i'm ok being alone, love it actually, and i love being with him. wouldn't want to lose him, that's for sure. i think he likes some time away, too. we went thru a couple years of pancreatic cancer and now i find i appreciate him more than ever.
