Speaking of being a bookaholic, I owned and operated used books stores for close to 20 years. I love the many of the classics, but a lot of them are not so good. Of contemporary writers, I like Cormac McCarthy, Barbara Kingsolver, Larry Brown, Stewart O'Nan and so many others.

For those of you who like heartwarming reading....there is a group of books out by Thomas Kinkade and Katherine Spencer, they take place in a small New England coastal town called Cape Light and are wonderful. I have them all.

I love it when someone asks who our favorite authors are because I make a list of them for future reference when I run out of books by one of my favorite authors: Catherine Anderson. Her books follow several different families: Coulter, Harrigan, Keegan, & Kendrick from the 1800's to the present. They don't have graphic sexual encounters like some of the books I've read. Early Dawn, Morning Light, Star Bright, and My Sunshine are some of her titles.
It would be helpful if at least one title would be listed for the lesser-known authors (or who have an easily misspelled name making it hard to find the author in the library listings). Now I'm going to my library with my new list of authors to look for.
