Have you ever thought about what Stephen King's nightmares are like? He is my fave too.

Does anyone read Jane Smiley or Joyce Carol Oates? I recently read a book by Ronlyn Dominque called "The Mercy of Thin Air"---------a very interesting, good read. My goal before I go to the "deep blue yonder" is to read as many of the classics and Pulitizer prize winners as possible. I have a good start on the Pulitizer ones. I also want to read the Tolkien books.

Tolkien can be a difficult read but the stories make it so worth it.

My girls have all read them and keep telling me I should as well. I never really even watched those movies that were made.

I don't know how I forgot to list Cormac McCarthy. OMG, what a genius - All the Pretty Horses, Cities of the Plains, The Road, No Country for Old Men. Be sure to have your Spanish/English dictionary handy. Love, love, love this author!

I know that there are many authors that I enjoy of todays books. But, my all time favorites are Mark Twain and Lucy Maud Montgomery.

Oh and John Steinbeck.

I very much like both of these authors! Oates also writes mysteries under the pen name Rosamond Smith. I read "The Mercy of Thin Air" a few years ago. Thanks for the reminder. Have to check to see what she has written since then. Have you read Louise Erdrich?

I also like Christine Feehan, Kim Harrison, and Charlaine Harrison (she wrote the series that True Blood is based on, Sookie Stackhouse series) They are awesome.. and not to raunchy, at least not like Laurell K Hamilton and Sherrilyn Kenyon, who are two of my fave authors... I pretty much read anything. Growing up my favorite author was and is Judy Blume. Love so many different ones I couldnt list them all
