yes they can climb, how high I don't know. Had a black snack crawl up a 4 foot post to get into a blue bird nesting box last year. ugh!

yes, they can climb, we had friends that were out fishing in the middle of the lake, and one swam out and into their boat-they threw it out with a fishing pole and it came right back---

I never heard of Snake-A-way, or Co-op. Wonder if it's available around here and if will keep snakes away from the chicken coop?

When I was a kid in Arkansas, we had a snake climb up the door facing and when someone opened the door he fell partly in to the door. It was spookey.

I hope the snake-away product works for you - never worked for me. My only way of leaving all the snakes behind from Florida and Virginia Beach was to have my husband retire from the Navy and move to the "Great White North" of the NY Finger Lakes with winters that can run from September to June. I was lucky, but had several friends with "home invasions"; they are quite talented at finding the tiniest of cracks. For those in non-poisonous surroundings, a large Tomcat works well. My pack of dogs seem to have kept most away.

I also heard that snakes do not like mothballs or cedar chips. My grandpa kept mothballs in the tool shed.
