Where did you drive 5000 miles to? from Minnesota you would be in the ocean going east or west? Paducah isn't 2500 miles one way....just curious as I take a lot of 'solo' drives for quilting, and I live in Northern Minnesota.

Go! My 85-year-old Mom and I went for the day to Paducah when my husband had business there. We went to the Quilt Museum - awesome! We spent quite a bit of time at Hancocks of Paducah. I wish we'd taken more money. What a selection of fabric! It's a nice little town. I'm from Evansville, IN and it only took a couple of hours to get there. I would take my sewing machine and something to work on though. Once you get more fabric, you won't want to wait until you get home to use is. Have a good time!

Go! The quilt museum is amazing. Give yourself the treat of spending as much time as you want studying the wonderful quilts. If you are afraid of spending too much money in the shops, set yourself a limit of amount of fabric you can buy. Or amount of money you'll allow yourself to spend. It's a nice downtown area to walk and browse around. All sorts of interesting restautants and shops. Go and have a great time. Worth the ride I think.

there is a quilt museum in Paducah. they change the quilts now and then there's always new ones so see, also antique quilts. My quilting buddies usually go in the spring when they have a quilt show but didn't get to go this year because Paducah had a lot of flooding , hope to go next year
