I purchases a FW and a 201 hand crank off of Ebay and had no problems. They were both well packaged and are beautiful machines! As already mentioned, check the sellers ratings and ask questions! Most sellers respond quickly to questions and try to answer them in detail.

I bought my Janome 11000 SE on ebay and have had wonderful service. It came from a dealer who had taken it in on trade. Before I could contact them to tell them it had arrived, they emailed me to tell me that they had found some extra hoops etc. that they should have sent and were sending them by FedEx!

I bought an Babylock ellegeo, and it worked ok, but just a few days later it acted up, and I traded it in on a brand new one, I bought for $1100.00 and trade in at $500.00, so I lost $700.00, and then later I was told by an employer it was fixed and sold, so I was taken by my dealer, I think. I have bought lots of things on e-bay and very satisfied. let us know what you did, Oh by the way I also bought a bernina deco 650 for a friend and the owner and I are very good friends now, and the machine works great

My Sister-in-Law purchased a embroidery machine on eBay and it came in good shape, lots of extras. It was a large purchase too. I think $1500.00. She took a chance and came out good. She has used eBay for years and loves it. She is the one who got me started.

I've bought three. First was great, last two were not so great.

I have a friend that bought a serger on Ebay. It was new and there rating was great. She has not had any problems. Just be sure they have a good rating. Make sure you check feedback.

I read on here before that someone bought one and it showed up without a case -- don't remember the rest of the details.

I bought a featherweight on E-bay several months ago. The machine came with the case, foot pedal, book and several feet and bobbins. When I opened the box, the musty smell was awful. I had to air out the machine and wipe down. It's a beautiful machine, but still has musty smell. The pedal is another story - cannot get rid of any of the smell. The case is so bad, I will have to get rid of it. I have tried everything. The seller would not budge. She stated I had an opportunity to ask questions before I purchased. I did ask many questions but failed to specifically ask "does it smell?" She did nothing to adjust this purchase. Buyer beware!
