Anyone know the difference between the 6600P and the 6500P?

The dealer I talked to would bundle the 12000 machine and the digitizing software together. Total MSRP is 14k...he was offering it for about 20% off. I will be traveling soon and plan to check out another dealer. I know there is a minimum sales price so it will be interesting to see how different they are. The machine itself is amazing. There are 20 feet included so there are limited optional parts. If I remember correctly, there are 4 hoops included. The lighting on this machine is simply amazing...great for older eyes.

The main differences between the 6500 & 6600 is the start stop button and the acufeed. There may be some difference in the number of stitches, but I don't think it is a big difference.

you can do comparisons, side by side on the site.

i have the 6600.i love her!

the 6500 is a short shank machine

the 6600 is a high shank machine.

this only matters when your buying feet for you machine.

Checked on the 12000 and our dealer said $9,000.00. Not sure if that includes software. Horizon DD paid $2,500.00.

there is a discussion and comparison of this new machine (and other Janome/.JEF related topics) at JEFLOVERS@yahoo groups .
You have to join the group (it's free).
BTW I am only a member of the group, I don't not run it etc.

I saw the machine on Saturday and he mentioned 9K. I ended up purchasing a Babylock Ellisimo instead.

I went to a 2 1/2 hour presentation on Saturday. It was totally impressive EXCEPT that it did not have a separate motor for the bobbin like my 6600. The dealer was offering it for $9500 and had a $500 gift certificate drawing towards the purchase for the people who attended the presentation AND offered trade in on our machines AND if you ordered by Monday you would receive 6 months worth of free merchandise from Janome (worth around $300/month) starting in January. It was very tempting, especially when my name was drawn but I just couldn't justify it at this time.
