have seen one of those in white-we have a black fuzzy on the outside basement wall right now which I'm told means early winter BLAH!

I agree! Imagine all the parts of that caterpillar disolving in the chrysalis and reforming into all the parts of a butterfly or moth. Absolutley amazing!

Here in Wisconsin, they say if the wooly bears are dark to black, it's going to be a cold winter. My grandson picked up a whole box full of black caterpillers. What does that tell you??? We'll see.

That is one of those caterpillars that you can look at and if it has really long fuzzies, it means a long cold winter. Yikes, Not again!!!!!
