Darn, I want a case like that....... thought I had everything I wanted LOL :D
For those of you who love the case, keep checking your local flea markets. My hubby has picked up two machines with cases like this for me over the summer. (I meant cases for the machines - not for me!) The last one was just $20, and the machine works beautifully! Remember, to most people these old machines are just junk taking up space.

I adopted one just like it from my mother-in law after she passed away she always told me I would get it because I was the only one that sewed in the family. It belonged to her mother. I brought my baby home 2 years ago and I love it, I remember seeing my husbands grandmother at the kitchen table some 40 years ago hemming curtains with it when I first was introduced to the family and I fell in love with it.

Enjoy your machine - vintage machines are best! When you've made a quilt using it be sure to post on the thread "Quilts made using vintage machines" - there are some lovely quilts on there.

Congratulations on your new machine. You will love sewing with her.
I had seen the machines in the bentwood cases and thought they were neat and would be nice to have. But, in Aug., I almost passed up my 1928 Singer 99, because I thought at the time I wanted another Featherweight. I had seen it on craigslist. I changed my mind and called back and told them I did want it after all. Mine cost me $85.00 and I just had to drive about 10 miles to get her. She has the knee bar and is in excellent condition, just a few minor scratches on the case. The decals and everything on the machine are perfect! My Tillie just purrs along so quietly.
If you need more bobbins for her, order them from Sew-Classic, that's what I did.
