Totally agree. Also, 1 looks like ocean, 2 looks like lagoon; ocean at a distance looks bluer than lagoon up close, so colors are more true to life.

1 and 4 seems more like water to me. 2 and 3 look like a swimming pool water.

I agree 2 &4 look like your looking into a swimming pool while 1 and 3 look like your looking across a lagoon or bay

Depends on what kind of water you are trying to create, all are good, but for different kinds of water. eg lake with sun on it,,, ocean calm. etc
