I love and appreciate all quilts. I personally don't care for the scrappy quilts as sometimes I think they are hard to look at. Too many patterns, fabrics going in all directions, etc. I prefer a planned quilt, with the fabrics all matching. However, I am saving squares to make a postage stamp quilt. I want to use only fabrics that I have used. I realize this is "scrappy" but postage stamp quilts I can look at all day!!!

I like them all but looove the scrappy ones. I keep making them but the box of scraps never seems to get emptied. Why?

Scrappy quilts are my favorite. I teach a scrap class that meets once a month. We find that some quilts can be trully scrappy and others are organized or planned scrappy. Those look more like a traditionally planned quilt but are using up that collection of scraps. We call it "Inventory Control", since using up scraps makes more room for new inventory.

I agree , I love the scrappy quilts, don't care for the Art quilts at all, much prefer the old time look in fabric and patters.

I more drawn to the more 'traditional' than 'modern' or 'art-quilt' and I love scrappy as long as the colours are "right" (to my eye - your mileage may vary). By that I mean more traditional colours - I cannot imagine liking a neon scrappy. But then maybe I just haven't seen the right one yet!!...

I think our personality is revealed in our quilts. Scrappy is hard for me I have made one and it turned out beautiful.
I confess I spent more time choosing the the fabric out of my scrap ben than sewing the top together. I definitely want and need to plan my quilts.
