Always in my socks in the house. Can control the foot pedal in my socks better than in shoes. And I'm in Tennessee ...
what else would you expect?

I am a barefoot sewer as well. Only wear socks in the winter time when it is really cold. Otherwise can't stand socks on. Go barefoot in the house as well, once in awhile I will put my slippers on but always sew barefooted.

Barefoot. My mom hated that I took off my shoes since I was a little girl and would go barefoot any and every where I could get away with that.

I sew at the machine with my slippers on. The floor is wood so the slippers keep my toes warm!

Shoes were always off for driving or sewing

This is too funny! I thought I was the only one who have to kick off my right slipper to sew. My kids have teased me about being a one foot sewer for years. They have to read this thread!!!

I am a barefoot/stocking foot sewer too (new to sewing)
I tend to go barefoot most of the time (except when going out) so naturally I would be sewing barefoot at home.
went to my first sewing class a couple weeks ago, and it felt weird sewing with my shoe on. the teacher said that a lot of people who come in, take off their shoe to sew.

I sew either way...barefoot or with shoes or slippers on. Mostly though I am usually barefoot.

We are rarely shoe-less in our household. Off go the outside shoes, on go the inside ones, whether they are crocs, slippers, moccasins...I sew with footwear on at home and at classes and retreats. I don't recall anyone not wearing footware at the last couple of retreats, we were all in shoes of some sort...except when we were in the hottub...but it was snowing and we needed boots to get to the tub.

I usually have my tennis shoes on, so I sew with those, but if I'm barefoot, I can sew shoeless. I'm trying to learn to pedal with the left foot right now. I do well enough but sometimes I don't pick up my foot and the machine keeps on going. )
