I don't belong to AARP and don't plan to. My prescription drug plan is thru United Healthcare, one of their subsidiaries. I don't have to pay the AARP fee to get the pricing. Also, I don't think they represent senior' interests much anymore. Their management makes a considerable amount of money in this cutback economy.

I have newly joined. Not sure yet. I do love getting 20 per cent off at Dennys everytime I go to eat, and thats on top of the senior dinner which are cheaper.

It's really good to see so many folks are realizing that AARP is just another lobbying organization that is in it for the money & political clout.

We had a membership for several years and finally dropped it a couple years ago. Have not missed it at all. They keep raising the membership fees and it just wasn't giving us much for our money or so it seemed to us.

There are very political now, and that isn't what I would want them to be. Memberships are supposed to be for the benefits, I think they are a front for a different purpose... IMO

My Dh joined this month, we got $100 onboard credit to use on our upcoming cruise, the cruise agent was nice enough to let us know about it when we were booking, not a bad payoff !!

I'm with you NinaSue. We don't belong anymore. Charity begins at home then your community and if you can you go further. Those CEO"s are getting big bucks.

Hey, at Denney's your coffee only cost $1.00 when you show them your card. Also, I find the magazines very informative for our area.
