I'm more a fan of the tan. Or if I may recommend, I think a light gray would look nice and give the blocks something to pop out against.

The Tan, the yellow is much too bright unless you would use it for Strips between the colors I would go for the Tan...

Same here yellow isn't my first choice generally but I think in this case it works really well. I also think the tan works well. I guess it will depend on how you want to showcase the batiks on the front. Either one I don't think you will go wrong.

Yellow; for sure. The cream is cautious, something that everyone would use. Go outside of the box and use the yellow to make the batiks pop. Look at the cream and the batiks; blah. Now, look at the yellow and the batiks; POP! Yellow is my choice.

Think of it this way; how many cream colors do you see in nature? Batiks are based on natures colors; sooo, there you go; yellow it is! Tks. GiGi

I like both, but would use the yellow only if there is not much background in the blocks. The cream gives your eye a place to rest, yellow might very well overwhelm the rest of the batiks.

Hmmm, I think if the batik pieces are large & the solids small (like in your avatar) I'd go with the yellow. If they're going to be equal sizes, the yellow might be too strong. However, the ivory/ecru doesn't do anything for me. Let us know what you decide!

I say cream because the yellow is a little harsh on your eyes, but unless we know the blocks it is really hard to say, but if it were me i would go cream not yellow.

Yellow, as I look to it right now. Once the other colors are laid out, I would probably change my mind to a more subdued color. I really do not like the off white, though, with them.
