If you follow the instructions they give (I know... Dubious at this point) you don't have to do any y seams, just the partial seams on the 4 big triangles. Which weren't difficult. You could paper piece the small triangle sections & then join it all together in the order they suggest to make it easier?

I think Doghousemom makes a different star, not the one from Just takes 2.

Finally finished the feathered star. I'm fairly pleased with it and I love the pattern. The center is a little wonky and I think I need to undo one seam in a corner and try again, plus it needs trimed, but I call her done, just need to do the embroidery now!! There were no Y seams and the block wasn't hard, just time consuming. I've had no issues with patterns being wrong, just with me using the wrong pieces in the wrong places sometimes. I really love the challenges this journey is providing, and I am learning way more than I would have on my own.

I went to DJ site today to see the new blocks (not that I'm done with my feathered star yet), and ....

2 blocks, one is a large star, the other is more flying geese. And the following note ...

THE DOWNLOAD HAS BEEN REMOVED UNTIL THE MEASUREMENTS
ON THE TEMPLATES CAN BE CHECK FOR ACCURACY.

    Sheesh. Here we go again.

SO GLAD to have checked this to see the reactions to today's blocks - I downloaded the original instructions - glad I got to see your warning about the pattern removal... THANKS!

Thanks for checking and letting us know. I downloaded the patterns but haven't finished the start yet.
