Thanks for that link!! I've been wanting to check out our Ontario Barn Quilt Trail, and am glad to get all the updated hosts. WOW!! has it ever grown since the starts only a few years ago for the Plowing Match. Interesting the link you gave as I know some of the McK's from that area!

There are illustrations of three quilts here, a log cabin, a trapunto and an 18th century chintz medallion that includes basic star blocks in the borders, ca 1830.

shows a red and white strippy 1900-1930.

    Good luck with your novel.

BTW: The Quilts of the British Isles [Paperback]
    Janet Rae (Author), David Cripps

is available used quite inexpensively online
    as is, more expensively:

I don't have a "cloth pattern" for Celtic Knot. This link is for a quilt barn trail with a "Thistle" pattern. It would be an applique if you made it from cloth. That's the same quilt trail link with the "All Tangled Up" tartan pattern.

This is a picture I took of a Celtic Knot quilt block hanging at a pub in Manchester, KY.

I think I downloaded a cloth pattern for Thistle during my research. I'll look for it and post if I find it.
Thanks for the other links. I'll check on those to see if one would fit my needs in the book.

And go one step beyond this pattern, and you'll find more info about Scottish Themed Quilts!

Hi Melinda, thanks for posting my Quilt Art Square! I just wanted to correct the city, that is Celtic Knot on O'Rourkes pub in historic Downtown Maysville Ky on the Ohio River. It is part of the Maysville Heritage Quilt Trail, 21 squares in and on historic buildings in our beautiful town. www.randesignscustomjewelry.com, check out the Quilt trail page!
