Really narrow ones like selvages I let accumulate until I have a bag full. Then I stitch them end to end while watching tv and wind into a ball as I go. No need to iron. I have 4 the size of large grapefruit now. Maybe I'll crochet them into a mat or a bag.

Great idea about saving the selvages! I save my strings by color, folding them accordian-style in zip-lock bags.

The ones I want to use later are in a bag. The extras are in the garage to be used for tying up yard trash and such. They work great and are better than string.

How about just hang them across a hanger? Sort by light/dark or colors.

After they are ironed hang them on a couple of coat hangers. Doesn't take much room.

I hang my 2.5" strips on a spare door with a door hook on it. For a lot of strips, use two door hangers with a dowel across them. That holds a lot of strips.
