    Sew any size piece of scrap fabric on the adding machine tape and when as long as you want you can cut it any place to use, like a piano border or sew squares of same size into blocks and you have a scrappy 4 patch. I saw a lady make a beautiful table runner just by cutting the length she wanted and sewed into a braid.
