DH uses our Singer 201 handcranck all the time for sewing patches on the kids club vests and repairing clothes.

My Hand Crank and Treadle Machine are used rarely, just for Hurricanes and Elec. outages. I love them both. but haven't made any big projects with either one. Shame on me...

I want a treadle thats what I learned to sew on. I don't think I am coordinated enough to do the handcrank and guide the fabric... lol

How do you keep the fabric feeding straight and smoothly while using the hand crank? this left handed girl is wondering!

I bought a Singer hc this summer at a yardsale. I was the first one at the sale and they would not go down on the price. It is in brand new MINT condition!!!!! I looked up the number and it is a 1931 Singer 99. The condition is absolutely like it was purchased new, not a mark, scratch, the metal shines as new. I oiled it and it just purrs!!!!! It has a coffin top with a key to lock it with, and on the right hand side of the machine it has a covered slot for the tools with the original key to lock it. That said, I was more than happy to pay $75.00 for it!!!!!!!!!!!! I just saw one for sale on our craigs list for $250.00 and definately NOT in new condition.

My brother was at a flee market in KY near where he lives and happened to walk past a table with this same machine on it and said it reminded him so much of me he had to get it for me then called me and said he had gotten it for me. The one thing wrong is the plate over the bobbin is missing!!! Does anyone know where I might find this part??? Thanks for any help out there.

I have bought several machines with the slide cover missing and have been able to get one on e-bay for a fair price.
