Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions. I am going to keep these posts and see what I can come up with using all these wonderful ideas. I was thinking of using all neutrals, Keepsake Quilting has a nice selection but I will check with the bride's mom first. The bride does not know anything about this, it is between her grandmother, her mom and me. It all started with me asking if she would like a Christmas table runner or topper as she always comments on things I make her grandmother and somehow it revolved into me making a lap quilt in all whites. I really like the suggestion of the couples names and marriage date emb. in the quilt, this will need to be done by hand as I don't have a emb. machine and my quilting will all be done by hand also.

Too funny! Try going to 365 free quilt designs or look up her Winter snowflake quilt? I am not sure of the winter quilt name but it is the one put together with the Curvey lines.

You can come up with similar stitches quilting by hand as Leah Day does with her machine. You can also use some embroidery stitches. One of the prettiest monochromatic quilts I have seen was a crazy patch -- different laces and different tone on tone white, cream, light tan fabrics. It was yummy!! The embroidery stitches made it amazing.

I too would check with Mom to see if the daughter likes the whole cloth or just the monochrome.

I have a whole cloth quilt that I bought the top at a quilt show. It is a whole pieceof fabric with all the quilting marks on it. All I had to do was get backing (I used a cheap sheet, because it was smaller thread count) and batting and quilt it by hand. I call it my masterpiece, and told my family to put it on my casket rather than flowers. I wouldn't call anything that I had to piece a whole cloth quilt.

Ask grandma and Mom if they have any lacy white hankies and build them into the quilt. That would give texture but keep to the white on white theme and make it into a memory quilt at the same time. Is she having her wedding gown made? Contact the maker and use some of the same fabric in the quilt as well.

I would never have thought of an all-white quilt so this thread has been very interesting. It just goes to show that quilters never run out of new ideas, only time!!

I recently made a wedding quilt for a friend. She wanted it all white and cream, so I used lots of lace strips and made up the blocks with the strips going on the diagonal (like Roman Stripe only all over) and then zig-zagged the blocks. She was delighted with it.
