Your hand quilting is exquisite! When I go to a quilt show I look for the handquilted quilts first. I am a hand quilter except for charity quilts. I could never get all of those done and most go to children and machine quilting is best for them I am told. I enjoy hand quilting and do it on all my quilts going to family and friends and for myself. Your work is very, very impressive.

You are so talented. I think there is a place for both hand quilting (thats how i learned) and machine quilting.

I agree with you! There is so much time and effort involved in hand quilting . It can be everybit as intricate and complicated and dense as machine quilting. I hand quilt most of my quilts, but I have a lot of them machine quilted, too. The time it takes me to hand quilt a Queen sized quilt, I can have three tops made and machine quilted. But, overall I prefer the old fashioned look and feel of hand quilting!

What talent you have! I am in awe of your hand quilting and can only imagine how many hours of love are quilted in your beautiful quilts. So inspiring to me and I'm sure the same for anyone else who is lucky enough to see them. So glad that the older posts remain for members who join this forum later down the road. Thank you so much for posting them. :-)

Your quilts/quilting is exceptional! When do you have time to go to the bathroom? LOL. I can't imagine that amount of work. I hope, one day, to be able to do it. I would never be able to give any of them to anyone for use!

I love the hand quilting better than machine quilting. I do believe some of the quilters like the idea that the machine quilting is quicker and can do more projects in a shorter span of time. As for me, I love the handquilting the best. I appreciate the art of the hand quilters. I haven't done one yet, but I am 65 and new to the quilting scene. God bless you hand quilters. I think your the best of all the quilters!

Your quilts are breath-taking! I agree with you on some of the quilts that are heavily quilted..sometimes it takes away from the piecing! I've seen some beautiful piecing ruined by heavy quilting, but I have also seen a so-so quilt made into a work of art! Thank goodness there will always be both hand and machine! All my family preceeding me did beautiful hand work also!

What a wonderful hand quilter you are. I love hand sewing and have just finished an applique quilt that I was considering hand quilting (have not attempted it before). You have inspired me to definitely take the time (and develop the skills) to HQ it.
Many thanks.
