    Default Favorite Quilting Book

I don't know if a thread like this has been made yet, or at least recently. But I figure why not?

What is your favorite quilting book?

Whether it is because of the beautiful patterns, fanciful quilting designs, or the helpful instruction? What makes it your favorite?

My favorite is "Victory Quilts" by Eleanor Burns (Quilt in a Day). It was the first quilt book I ever bought and I still love it to this day. This book includes patterns from the 1940s/ World War II era. This is my favorite era and I love learning about this part of history so it fits me perfectly. The instruction is also very easy to understand.

I tend to buy a lot of charm square packs. So my favorite book series is the nickel quilts made with all 5 inch squares. I only have the first two books but would like them all. Here is the link: http://www.patspeth.com/nickelquilts.html

I personally love anything with the star of Bethlehem in it and pinwheels.

I bought this book in the 70's. "American Quilts and How They Grew" by Carter Houck & Myron Miller. It has pictures of antique quilts in museums, and the patterns to make them. Not sure if you can even get it anymore. Also The Little Brown Wren.

I have way too many books to really have a favorite...I love them all...but I am especially inspired when I look through the books I have by Kim Diehl...maybe next year I will make something from one of them!

I also have too many to pick a favorite. I tend to lean towards any book with less pieces, fast and easy.

Oh my gosh, what a question!! I have so many favorites. One I turn to frequently is the Quilting Source book and Big Book of Best Loved Quilt patterns. But, I love them all!!!!
