Default I made the best Impossible Pumpkin Pie!

I took the recipe from bisquick and made a couple of changes.

    http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/...5-7581f1d96315

I substituted pancake mix for the bisquick and pure maple syrup for the sugar - that's it! It was delicious and thought I would share.

I've made many of the Impossible Pies since they came out 40 years ago. The Custard is spectacular, no muss, no fuss and no scalding your hands pouring the scalded mild into the pie crust (as the old recipes call for). Never had a failure with any of them and all were very good.

You're welcome! I hope everyone enjoys it like we did.

btiny36 - It doesn't really make a crust, but the edges are thicker than the center. And the pancake mix has a softer texture than the baking mix. I have made it both ways. I like the baking mix when I make impossible cheeseburger pie - yum! Hmm - I have all the ingredients to make the cheeseburger pie tonight!

I am just curious, have often seen recipes for pumpkin pie, but do you always use tin pumpkin? And what is pumpkin spice made up of. We don't have tin pumpkin here pumpkins are in abundant supply and grown in a lot of home vegetable gardens. We mainly roast, mash pumpkin or have pumpkin chips. Do you buy pumpkin to cook and eat? sorry I sound really dumb but I have always wondered about this.

That sounds like a winner! I have made the one using a yellow cake mix, that turned out great. Will now try this. THANKS -
