Oh my I think it is a sickness.......I have three projects started and need to finish at least just table runners.......went shopping Saturday to support small buisness day and bought enough fabric for 5 new projects......no patterns yet just guessing what I would like to do. I hope someone comes up with some medication for people like me!

If you are that close, then I'd say just finish it. The weight of UFOs can take a toll after a while.

I like the variety of working on several quilts at a time. When I get close to finishing one I do concentrate on it til completed. Then I pull another one out so I have at least 5 I'm working on at all times. It's ok to not finish something right away. If I tire of something I put it away with all the fabric for that project and the instructions so when I go back to it everything is right there.

Oh boy this is me too. BUT I have to let it go for a while. I've started to do this :I have a large basket that sits beside my chair in the living room. I put no less than 3 projects in it at a time. I can't do just one or I get so bored that I go crazy. So I keep 3 projects going at a time and that way I can always change and I don't get bored. I hand quilt too. I use a hoop that I can hold or put on a stand. Depends on my mood and how my back feels.

Years ago I made myself a rule-----only 3 projects at a time. When I find #4 that I want to do---I MUST finish one!!
It has seemed to work for me---The excitment of a new project gets me going on one of the three!

What works for me is to rotate among two or three projects. When I find myelf getting sleepy or slowed down, I switch to one of my other projects. When the studio gets messy with stuff all over the place, I stop and tidy it up. It really does freshen not only your space but also your mind, smile.

I am afraid it is contagious and I too am infected with having hands busy with current project and mind whirling with "I've got to make it" quilts in my mind and my computer.

Well, you have to know yourself well enough to know that forcing yourself to finish a project you're tired of is the best thing. I know the best thing for me is to put it aside, work on something else, usually small, for awhile and then come back.

I am working on my first king-size quilt for my bed and need 1/4 yard of one color to finish. I bought the fabric out of town and there is no marking in the selvage. It is a Moda beige and the other quilt shops do not have the same shade.:-(
