I had and issue with one of mine. It was just under two years old. I called them, emailed them the receipt and S/N and they sent me a new one for under $10.00. I was pleased. I didn't have to return the old one, they wanted a picture with the cord cut off.

Mine does as well, in addition to usually having a guarantee that it works. I tossed my reciept already unfortunately. >.<

I was wondering if it was the ballast and will research that as well to see what is locally available and the cost associated with that. I'm out a grand total of $23 at this point. I think I better stop :-P

How frustrating! However, it was interesting to read other posts about contacting the dealer, etc. Good luck.

Thank you for this discussion. I have had the same problem. Light went out, bought a replacement bulb.....nothing. I haven't disposed of the lamp yet but believe I will now. Doesn't sound like much hope for it.

My husband was able to put a new ballast in ours. It was given to us and didn't work. Now I use it all the time! Love it!

I too, had a problem with my ott lite after having it for a few years & took it to my local retailer & he was able to fix it. I believe he got the new part from the company (I think it was in the connection plug but not sure) & voila, success. He is a sewing machine retailer who also sells ott lites. Hope you find a solution.

Sounds like you have wiring issues...might want to get someone who knows anything about wiring to take a look at it..

I had a problem, emailed the company and never got a reply. I eventually purchased a new one.

Buy your new Ott light at Lowe's for about what it would cost to fix the old one, and much cheaper than JoAnn's.
