What a fabulous trip! DO be prepared to pay a lot more for quilt fabric in Europe.

No advice. I've never been there. But it sounds so exciting. Take lots of pics and show them to us!

I had problems finding fabric stores in Europe, especially Italy. I have been making a quilt from all the places we have been, and try to by a piece of fabric in each country. In Italy I bought a dishtowel. It was woven and had a scene of Rome on it. Germany and France were the only countries where I actually found a fabric shop. The air fare was cheaper.

When I was in Turkey, about 10 years ago, I wasn't yet a full blown quilter; but I bought a few yards of some flower brocade. It stayed in the closet for at least 5 years, when I finally used it to make covers for my kitchen chairs. They are the old chrome-legged ones, so are quite dated. But now they look quite presentable. Love those flowers.

Oh I love Prague!!! Waiting for the time I can go back again. When I was there I did not see a fabric shop, but I didn't look very hard either..... so much to look at!! But I did find a shop with hand done embroidery of which I had to purchase a few things. Even tho I was taught to do these myself, it was so special to get something from there. I also spotted a lady crocheting in a park and bought a few things from her. Anyway, keep your eyes opened to all possibilities....you will have a fabulous adventure!! Show us all your goodies when you get back!!
