Definitely! Make a matching pillowcase if you have enough leftovers.

I've only made one with a storage bag but liked the way it turned out. I really like the idea of a matching pillowcase, I'm going to keep that in mind for future reference.

For my son's wedding I made a quilt and instead of wrapping paper I made sack out of quilt's backing fabric. It looks like a round bottom bag with a draw string. I also sew a pocket and place the washing instruction in it.Turned out nice and very practical.

This is the best idea yet. You just have to be really sure the lining has enough seam allowance. Probably a French seam would ensure that the seam wouldn't pull apart. I've seen so many things made with these slippery fabrics with the seams all frayed out.

I. too always make a pillow case to " present" the quilt. Even my charity quilts. Cases do not even have to match, just sorta cooordinate.

I use to make matching pillowcases with the idea the recipient would use one to store the quilt in until I saw one friend had carefully wrapped the quilt and the pillowcases in plastic to store. Now I figure in extra fabric of the main fabric and make a drawstring bag for the wrapping paper. This way they can easily identify the quilt that is in the bag and no more plastic. I will also include an article about the correct way to store and wash the quilt - always seems to be appreciated.

I too usually make a matching or coordinating (if not enough fabric left) for the quilt. If it is a bed quilt and a double or larger I will make 2 pillowcases

I make a pillowcase in the leftover fabrics for them to use and/or to store the quilt in when not in use. I give the quilt to them in this pillowcase. I also add their name on the cuff of the pillowcase.
