I was watching a Little House episode and it was a county fair kind of thing, and Ma had entered some jellies or something in the competition. After the jellies were judged, the announcer went on to the quilts, but the scene was over, DARNIT! I wanted to see the quilts!

The movie "The Descendants" (with George Clooney) has a beautiful antique yellow and white Hawaiian quilt - first on the hospital bed covering his wife, then at the end of the movie he and his daughters snuggle under it on the sofa.

Speaking of which, in the last episode when Amy was talking about a woman Raj wanted to meet, Amy said she and woman had quilting in common.

This one actually inspired a 4" red and white block quilt I am making for my daughter (who is a Junior at Oklahoma) right now. I am hoping to have it done by the time she graduates (all hand stitched, so it's taking awhile).

many years ago, I met a woman in L.A., Margaret Cavigga, who had a quilt shop and also rented quilts out for use in TV and movies. She said she always hoped that they would get damaged, because then the renters would have to pay full retail for them. She said that usually happened.

I saw one in one of the soaps the other day. Bold and Beautiful last few episodes where Hope and wyatt were travelling in the airstream. It was close to the back on the edge of a bed. it was a star pattern.

1932 movie called Three Wise Girls. In the first 10 minutes of the movie there was a 12" (?) hexagon block quilt with stars in the middle of the blocks. Loved the pattern. Very unusual (to me, anyway). I have the dvr set for the next showing so I can at least take a picture of it.

I sometimes become so interested in the quilt on the screen that I completely lose track of what the actors are saying or doing. Yngldy, I checked out Three Wise Girls on YouTube. I don't know the pattern but I liked it too.

Used to watch Dr. Quinn (until D-tv took it off). Quilts all over the clinic & homes. Kept watching because they always
seemed to be diff.

Roxie on Army Wives had one hanging on the wall behind the couch. One night I paused the DVR so I could sketch the pattern!
