My DIL dressed my Grandaughter in browns and greens pants and boy styled shirts, ugh!!! It pained me to see it. BUT...as the baby grew up she insisted on PINK and PURPLE dresses only!! She's almost 9 now, and has not worn any dark or dreary since she had a say in her clothing. I will post a picture of her.

If you know the sex, brown and pink looks good and if its a boy brown and either pale blue or aqua also go well, depending on the shade of Blue or pink you might be able to put both in with brown, I would probably veer towards a milk chocolate or a minky colour rather than a dark brown.

I am so grateful I showed my friend the flimsy (a fun bright fence rail with a frog border) I am ready to sandwich for her DIL's baby due this summer. When I showed it to her, she asked "who is that for?" I said Jen then she said our Jen?..she does not do color." She only likes brown...
On the "bright" side I will have a flimsy made ahead for the next baby I need one for. This am I began cutting strips of browns, creams and medium browns.
I posted the Baby Flimsy completed last week. Thanks for listening I feel better now

I also do not understand a mom depriving her kid of bright colors in her/his nursery. How depressing!
Anyway, if this is her first baby, I'd expect changes in the future. If not...well...
At least you have the top for the next gift and be glad your work isn't wasted on a person who won't appreciate it!
Just read that she has a 5 yo. Oh well. Make the brown and save the bright top for another appreciative mom.

My son always wanted his room painted and linens in gray. Later we found out he couldn't see any red or greens -- they were gray to him. He liked my white suit that was actually a pink. So, maybe some folks just don't see colors the same way we lucky people do.
I have often wondered if those of us who love color, think color and drool over colors, might be the minority who also dream in color. . . .

I had a request for a black and green baby quilt once. I scratched my head..then found a cute gecko fabric for the border ..black background with bright geckos. Did black and green nine patches on point with solid black blocks between. It was cute! Found out when mom was having a 2nd baby that the quilt was 'put away for good and would I make one for the new baby'! Lets see...1. no thank you...not even a verbal one, 2. she called it a BLANKET 3. put away for good... Strike three! You're OUT!
