Being an old timer, the effort to make a classic block seem 'swoony' makes me chuckle. But hey, if it keeps the hobby alive, it's all good.

Bought the pattern, bought all the fabric for it(Vintage Modern) , but I guess I should've bought some time to make it! LOL

I believe the Craftsy class you want is Precut Paper Piecing. The Swoon pattern is there. If I get my courage up, I hope to try it this summer. Good luck!

IT'S NOT PAPER PIECED. IT'S BY CAMILLE ROSEKELLY (SP) and it's made from pre-cuts. the title on craftsy has "pre-cuts" in it. I believe it was mentioned on pg 1. I bought the pattern on-line.

I made 2 quilts with Vintage Modern. Came out beautiful. I do think the Thimble blossoms blocks are way too large and I got tired making it. The 2nd one I used the smaller double nickel one and liked working with it much better. The yellow points (as shown on the website) do not have seams and look much better. Personally I wouldnt use the Thimble...pattern again. But I would use it for color placement. I dont care for the double nickel scrappy look.

Thanks QuiltNama. I found it in my book "1001 Patchwork Designs". It's exactly the same but uses modern fabrics. It's on my list.

This is on my quilting list for sure...and I think I will prefer the double nickle pattern. Think I will start fabric shopping, since that is one of my favorite parts of a new project! =)
