I contacted her, very nice lady and she sent me more pics. It was a roll top to start with as we all surmised. They cut a hole into the desk and set a platform in it so any machine can juts sit inside. The desk was very beat up and the machine in it was a Nelco. I passed..LOL

Of course they neglected to post any pertinent photos that show how the machine sits in or on the desk.

So, if you only have room for one Parlor cabinet which do you go for? The $12,000 Singer or the W&G?
Decisions, decisons...
If I could swing it I'd be all over the W&G machine even without the glass tension.

The patio table isn't terrible for what it is. It's a lot nicer than a lot of the re-purposing that people do. I do wonder how many people it takes to move it though. Cast iron adds up fast and there's plenty there.

Why would anyone buy that rusty mess? Recycled is one thing, but to put two disparate items together and don't even bother to clean them up is ridiculous.

Side tables are one thing, but for a table that is made to have people sit around, treadle sewing machine irons are one of the worst things to use as a table base.

This ad has been running forever. There are 7 repeats of the ad within minutes of each other.

I wonder why it hasn't sold yet?

I flag ads like that.

"It was giving to us and we would love to keep it yet we just don't have the space for it anymore."

I bet. At least make up a reasonable amount to ask for your non-antique , post-WW2, made in Japan sewing machine.

Good grief. I'd need to be in a Haz-Mat suit to go look at that one.

How do machines get that gross? Seriously? I swear I've seen pizza, cookies, chocolate, etc all over them. I think I found sand in a serger.... is that mould? Is it really that hard to take care of an indoor appliance? Man! I wonder what their microwave looks like inside.... *shudders*
