I don't know a brand or size or anything yet, but I know the woman and she is VERY meticulous and a little bit of a wealthy eccentric. A couple of years ago she started designing a quilting room planning for her retirement. She bought the long arm quilter, new sewing machine, fabrics galore, and other accessories, then when she retired she didn't want to stay home afterall so she went back to work! I have been told this room looks like a fabric store! Anyway, when she gets back from her vacation she says I can come over with a quilt that needs quilting and she will show me how to set up my quilt, put it on the frame and even quilt it. Then she says I can decide if I still want it. This sounds too good to be true, huh? And am so excited! Only been a fantasy for the past year!
I would jump on it if I had the money. I would also ask her about the fabric

Go for it if you have the room.

I have a Gammill Classic that is a 2009, I love my machine. I bought mine new and got 3 lessons which helped lots.. If it is older it probably does not have a extended base, but I would check for that and any other extras... I also have a stitch regulator on mine which makes stitching in the ditch and doing intricate sewing helpful.. If you plan to use rulers you will need the extended base. If you are only planning on doing pantos you probably do not need a extended base.. I would find out how old it is. And go to a shop where they have gammills and actually test drive one...

Mt. Glory, I have a completely manual Gammill PDQ30, manufactured in the 80's. It is an amazing machine. The new machines are nice, but I've finished many quilts on my oldie moldie. Get it if the price and situation are right.
