QuiltE I love your blocks mirabelle and I looked at them closely

Here's another Insane block. I decided the quilt needs a bit of blue! This is block # 4.

Another lovely one, Anael ... are all the Insanes 6" blocks?

So are you going for the Aussie look? British? American?
(red, white and blue!)

Thanks QuiltE. Yes they're all 6" finished. No, not Aussie, British or American. I could say Dutch as we have red white and blue too but it's just what I liked. I'm not patriotic so no specific look.

True ... I always forget that ... guess all the orange "blinds" my memory.
With that in mind .... why all the orange??

Well, that has to do with what happened in the 16th century. The red, white and blue were the colours from the 14th century into the 16th. During the reign of William of Orange the national colours changed into orange, white and blue. In the 17th century that changed back to red, white and blue with an orange banderole, depending on the occasion. It never changed again.

Thanks for the history lesson!
So the Orange today ... is a kickback to William?..... he sure has had his hold all these years.
