My MIL and I did one of those too; I did the cutting and strip sewing and she did the piecing. It's a huge job! Totally worth the effort, though. Looks stunning, even without the borders

This is beautiful just as it is. I did a Bargello several years ago and it was the most frustrating quilt I ever did! I gave it to my sister. Now replacing with a 30 minute block. Hope to complete soon.
