This would be fun to do as a group project. Our quilting group did a charity quilt years back and it was amazing how many women didn't sew a true 1/4 inch seam. Now that being said we did have a lot of beginners in our group. something like this wouldn't matter. Think I'll book mark this for future reference.

I've made some blocks that are "off" in a similar manner but it was unintentional (due to my darn tremor). Hmmm...now I can say that it was a Leah Day pattern inspired thing LOL. What a great excuse for a "bad" piecing day.

The purpose of the class is to think about and use different free-motion quilting on different blocks. And you can make the blocks you want and change them. It has really been a fun learning experience being in Leah's free-motion group.

The purpose of the class revolves around piecing too- she teaches how to piece every single design. It's not just for free motion quilting. The only reason I bought this pattern was to try my hand at a lot of different piecing skills, since my piecing sucks (I don't do it very much).

Personally- I did like the star block, even though mine barely resemble stars. And when put together with the whole quilt they don't stand out as "poorly pieced", because there is so much variety in it.

This block wouldn't disturb me, I just wouldn't do it.

"Very disturbed"?

My dear, you simply must unclench.

I learned that quaint phrase from the great-grands just this weekend, and this is a delightfully apropos opportunity for me to make use of the new vocabulary.

I love it! It's not a perfect star, it's an abstract star. Super cute, especially in a kid's quilt!

This is a little different, but for the folks that are afraid to piece because of matching squares, this would be a way for them to quilt without feeling like they are making mistakes or are not piecing perfectly... I like it for something different. I think it would make a neat QOV.

I didn't watch the video but in her email I had to laugh when she warned us of the mismatching that could be a problem for some quilters.
