Do you like this ribbon better?
This was the "quilt with a story" class where the quilt's story had to be submitted. At the Fairs we seldom get written comments from the Judge, as was the case once again last weekend. However, on the back of this entry tag the Judge had written ... "This is special!" I guess she liked the story, and how it all came together!
Every Quilt Has a Story ....
Twenty quilters in 5 countries met online and for over 3 years, we have quilted together while developing friendships. A modern spin on quilting bees and pen pals.
As a "Fabric Friends Challenge" each were sent a Fat Quarter (the star fabric) with instructions to "Be Creative!"
I made Signature Blocks, sending to each. Using fabrics from my stash, I combined the traditional Friendship Star and Trip Around the World patterns with these Siggie Blocks to represent our international friendships.
The memories stitched into this quilt will last a lifetime while providing many warm hugs!!
I have now remade my label, to include this story.

Oh QuiltE - congratulations on your 1st place ribbon. Wow, how cool is that! I have missed seeing you on the threads, hopefully your commitments to the fairs has subsided, so we can see and hear from you once more! Missed you! Jeanie

I so want a "like" button, Jeanie! Fantastic, QE!! And so worthy of the double post!
PS, we've all had some troubles with posting here lately while you've been off gallivanting.
