I just keep mine in a grooved piece of wood.
A larger one for the big rulers and a smaller one for the small rulers.

Now that I look at them in a photo, I can see they are not technically a cup hook. More like a cup hook straightened.
This is what I do and I keep the smaller ones in a box in my cutting table. I use command hooks.

I do have one of those as well, but it takes alot of room on the dresser and with everything else I keep on there...I manage to tip it over & that's not great on the rulers.

I too have the grooved wood, the longer one for the longer rulers and the shorter one for the square and smaller rulers.

Great idea!! I use peg boards but plan to move soon and I won't be taking the peg boards with me as I find the hardware that goes into them tends to come out too easily. Love the idea of command hooks!

Default Let the cat help with the smaller rulers

Picked up the cat shelf at a yard sale - had DH cut slots for my smaller rulers.

I put a couple of nails on the side of my sewing table and just hang them there

I have a small sewing room, so I have a peg board right in front of my cutting table. I hang all of my rulers, so when I need one, I just reach out to get it. I inherited a wooden holder from my mom, but it took up shelf space that I did not have. I am happy with the peg board.
