    Default Duh Me!!!

Does this sound like you?..I had just finish 2 thinking quilts..as I call them..everything on them had certain directions for each piece and color..So I decide to clean out all my extra material..as I had bought material for one of the quilts and the bride change her colors..I had material I would never buy for myself..I though ..not fond of this stuff..so I would make an easy get it over with quilt..WELL..didn't turn out that way..Just made up a pattern in my head..decide to make strips ..4 across for the block ..then snowball the corners..what could be easier..right...as it turns out a lot of other things..lol..I have 27 seams to match and most of them are points..since there is 10 colors in the quilt..I also have to make sure none of the colors are the same with I match up the rows..plus smart me decide to use the colored material with the snowball..( wonder who made that name up for that)..so again I have to watch all 4corners when sewing the rows so they don't match colors.lol..I don't think I will be calling this the easy quilt..lol..more like the Duh Me ..lol

It seems that happens to me a lot. So now when I see easy - I'm a little gun shy.

Yes. Sometimes I overthink things and make it much more difficult than if I had followed the pattern.

Sometimes it is easier to use/follow the pattern.

Or at least draw out "my" design on graph paper - since that is what I have -

When I see lots of intersections on a block, I will go so far as hand piecing it to figurec out which eay to press it.

Forget about matching anything and put a thin sashing between the blocks!

I have had that happen in the past. Good luck and don't forget to post the finished product.
