    My sister had a lot of craft magazines with everything under the sun. She had a garage sale knowing she wasn't going to make a lot of money but just wanted to get rid of everything. Her sale was for 2 1/2 days. She had a bag sale. Anything you can fit in the bag for a $1.00 and she helped fit the bags. The bags were size of paper grocery bags. She made $200.00 the first 2 days. The last day cleaned her out at $.25 a bag. All she had to do was fold and put away 3 tables. She was $275. happier.

    The most I paid for out of date magazine was on Amazon for $2.00

    I would pay .25-.50c ...if they aren't cheap enough I figure I have all the magazines I'll ever need at home.

    I would pay more for older magazines - I am finding a lot of the newer magazines don't have much in them. Op shops here (Australia) charge anything from 5 for $1 to $3 each. I watch out for American magazines as they are expensive to buy here.

    I confess I would not buy them at all unless I happened to see a pattern in one that I liked. I just threw away a bunch of mine.

    I pay 10 cents or three for a quarter at a thrift show, but mostly I get them for free when people donate them to the Friends of the Library and they put them on the free shelf in the library lobby.

    I did pay more than a couple of dollars for one once when I was missing one issue to make a quilt that was serialized in Australian Patchwork and Quilting (a really fabulous quilt and a wedding gift for step-son and wife,) so it was worth it.
