    Default Help--Janome horizone 8900 users

My Janome 6500 is in the shop, going on 4 weeks now. They said it was fixed and I picked it up , and still had issues with it . So they said bring it back and they would let me use one of their machines. They gave me the Janome MC 8900. It works great; but I can't figure out how to set the decorative stitches on it. Does anyone have one and can you explain to me how to use the different stitches? I looked online but found no info. Thanks

I have the 8200 but hope it's the same. There is a mode button on the touch panel (on the left). Mode 3 is most of the decorative stitches I think. So press mode twice to get to mode 3 then type in the stitch number eg: 03.

How do you like using it? I saw the post title that you needed help but then I see that your question was answered. Hope you're enjoying the machine.

The first things I like about it; was the larger throat space and the good lighting. I didn't think it was very user friendly to use the decorative stitches. But the dealer didn't give me the manual with it. And I don't think it is worth the $4700 for a used one. And now I am not so sure I trust this sewing machine dealer, as I took my machine in to get cleaned and get the power supply replaced. I was told 2 weeks , after 3 weeks I called and was told they were still waiting for the part. Then they called and said my machine was ready last Friday. I picked it up and was going to use it at home; and I had the same issue with it. So called them back and he said bring the machine in and he would let me use one of theirs. So I don't know what they were trying to pull--they didn't fix it but took my money.

Then I would contact Janome directly with your concerns.

The price mentioned is high even for a new one. I have a 8900 that I bought 10 months ago and didn't pay anywhere near that. Shop around if you want one. $3000 or there about is a going price for a new one.

To do the decorative stitches you first have to pick the mode and then dial to the stitches. The stitches are arranged by mode on the flip chart at the top of the machine.

follow this link to a copy of the manual online.
    http://janome.com/siteassets/support...c8900qcpen.pdf

$4,700 is not a fair price - especially for used.
    the MSRP is "only" $3,999.

i have heard of dealers who won't sell for below MSRP, but i've never heard of one who sells for more.
