I'd love a Queen Anne cabinet too. I would likely switch out an existing one for it.
Cari, I do find that sewing cabinets do go on their own when I put them in the buy and sell. Usually anywhere from $15 - $25 will clear some space for me in a relatively short order. I do that with the ones that are in reasonable shape but have no machine. The ones that are rough - stripped screws and the thing is rickety, "mid-century" and had the stuffing beat out of it, parts missing and not reasonable to try to find replacements (again, generally a mid-century /particle board thing, never a treadle or "worth fixing" style of desk with real wood that can be repaired) - do sometimes hit the dump. Sometimes a neighbor takes them and spends more time with them than I'm willing to.

I don't mind robbing the hardware off cabinets that aren't worth the effort to fix. I don't care for particle board or printed "wood" finishes. Treadle cabinets and old solid wood cabinets are worth the effort to bring back. What I really need though is a ready supply of cheap vintage carrying cases.

As much as I like them and even if I had the money to burn I wouldn't pay $1500 for a White Rotary in a Martha Washington cabinet. I really don't know how people come up with their prices.

[h=2]"White" William and Mary Sewing Machine - $100 (Dana Point) http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/fuo/5107739856.html[/h]
This is a much more reasonable price. Did White have a range of historically named machines/cabinets?
