I have the Matilda Rotating Mat I purchased it I believe on Black Friday from the Fat Quarter Shop at the time they had the best price + shipping I could find on the internet.

I also have the square olfa, which I have used for years, it is easy to pack and take to retreats or classes.

I also was able to find the Elna Amazing turntable via eBay and I really like it too for certain projects I'm working on.

I personally prefer the Matilda mat, in my experience have not found the Matilda to be prone to tipping. The ball bearings make the Matilda phenomenally easy to rotate and adjust to just the right/position or angle I need to cut, trim or square up.

I have a rotating mat and I never use it, because I realized I could use my smallest regular mat on top of my main large mat and just turn it around as needed... That "smallest" mat is larger than the rotating mat I bought but still small enough to fit in any direction on my table, so it's a lot more useful. Wish I hadn't wasted money on the rotating mat! ANY mat is a rotating mat if you turn it!

I have just ordered one of those but I paid twice that much for the one I have ordered. I am hoping that is will be good.

I have several rotating mats and fine the Martelli one to be the only one that is stable all the way to the edge. If you are only doing really small pieces the others are okay but with Martelli the rotating base is larger and heavier so the whole mat is stable. Watch for a sale on their web site and it will be half price. There is also a top for ironing that fits the same base.

I use one made by Martelli. It is double sided, one side for dark fabrics and the other for light. I have used 4 other brands before and find that this is the best one by far.

I use to do this before I got the rotating one. My problem was the mat I was turning never stayed in the same spot.
