Default Using the new quilting rulers?

Has anyone tried these yet? Craftsy is offering a class on these.
I have watched some videos on this process and looks very
interesting. Just would like to know those that have them,
what they think of them.

What is the name of the rulers?

I found this new class: [h=1]Quilting With Rulers on a Home Machine[/h]
Is that the new rulers?

I visit Amy's site www.freemotionquiltingadventures.blogspot.com/ I notice she is offering classes on Craftsy, is it her class you are considering? She is good and a member of QB.

I tried using a straight ruler and it was difficult for me to move the quilt and the ruler. Sometimes one just gets too old to try new ways of quilting.

Yes, this is the one I saw offered on Craftsy. Just wondered how many have tried this method of quilting?

I have used it a little bit with a straight-line ruler. Just be aware that these are NOT the thin cutting rulers. These are 1/4" thick rulers you need to keep the hopping foot to jump the ruler edge. With the thin ones you could jump the ruler and bust your needle.

My machine has a large throat space and table so working with rulers is doable. It does take patience and practice to hold the ruler steady and move the quilt WITH the ruler.

The only problem is making sure your machine is flat with the table so the rulers don't tilt as you are working with them. Ask me how I know!
peace

I have done this. You should have a ruler foot. Westalee make them for different machines. I have one for my Viking. The whole process is neat. You can watch lots of YouTube videos if you do a search for Westalee.

I think this old dog is just too old to learn any new tricks.
